I am exhausted

I am exhausted! How about you? I am tired of cruelty, hatred, blame, shame, complain and anything that makes people feel less than. I’m tired of the overwhelm of the news cycle (and I don’t even watch the news) on the division of the country, the deadly disease, and everything else that fear wants us to focus on. Now, I am not saying there isn’t division, nor am I saying that the current global virus isn’t something to know about and take measures to be safe for yourself, but I am saying, I am tired of FEAR thinking it’s winning.

Fear is a marketing genius. It knows how to grab your attention and not let it go. It keeps sending a new offer of what to focus on. And the more you give your attention to it, it feeds off of it and grows! Oh, it is so enticing as it LOVES to showcase worse case scenario as if it’s the truth, rather than the worse case being a possibility.

I just wanted to remind you that even though I coach, speak and breathe LOVE, kindness, compassion and peace, fear visits me too. Actually, it visits far more that I would like! But then I am reminded that fear is a tool if I choose it to be. It’s a reminder that I am focusing on what I don’t want in my life and in the world more than I am focusing on what I want in my life and in the world. Fear CAN be your friend, you know the annoying friend who keeps pestering you, but you still LOVE them friend?

Whatever form fear is showing up in your life right now, it’s most likely there to try and tell you that you aren’t worthy of living in a safe, healthy, and LOVING environment. It shows you plenty of examples that it’s true and you should listen to it. And sometimes it’s going to win for a moment, or a day, or a week, etc. It wants you to be exhausted so you have no space for LOVE, kindness, and compassion to enter. Fear is afraid of LOVE, so it tries to consume your body, mind, spirit, and heart.

Let fear visit, just don’t invite it to move in!

I would LOVE to tell you that releasing fear is easy, but it’s not always. Releasing little fears is easy, but the big ones that have you in a vice grip, well, that takes work and practice. But you are oh so worthy of that effort.

Moving forward, I invite you to release the grip of fear by:

Breathing through it. When fear has our attention, we are often breathing shallow and not giving our brain and heart the oxygen it needs to make clearer and kinder decisions. Breathe!

Being okay with it visiting. As I mentioned before, kindness and positivity is my life’s work and yet fear still comes to say hi. Sometimes it’s a quick ‘Carol, what are you focusing on?’ and I step back into LOVE. Other times, it’s far more persistent and LOVE has to gently nudge me to say ‘Yo Carol, I’m right here when you are ready.’ Fear isn’t something to rid of from your life, but it is something you don’t want to rule your life.

Learning from fear. It is here to teach you something if you are willing to listen to it. If you don’t like a divisive country (or world), ask what you can do to add more LOVE, kindness, and peace to the world? I promise you, it isn’t through fear actions like blame, shame, and complaints.

Resting! Sometimes the best thing to do when fear seems to have your full attention is to take a break! Take a nap.

Shifting your energy. Go outside. Hug a tree. Put on uplifting music, here is my high vibe playlist on Spotify. Do something that feels good.

Focusing on the world you want to live in. You don’t have to overtake the world to do this, sharing your smile, offering a kind word, or doing some small kind action will begin your shift toward focusing on what you want in your life over what you don’t want.

Mostly, my wish is to simply remind you that YOU MATTER in this world and that you are so worthy of living a life that is kind, LOVING, compassionate, and peaceful.

Until next time… fear not.

Big ((HUGS)) and much LOVE,

Coach Carol
