what does happiness truly mean?

Come on now, just BE HAPPY!  I’m sure you’ve heard that a million times and I know I’ve said it a time or 10. We strive for happiness. We dream about happiness, yet it often seems elusive as we think happiness is the final destination rather than the journey. Happiness doesn’t start at your ideal body, the job you love, the perfect relationship or the incredible house. Happiness starts in each moment when you choose to be grateful and appreciative for life. Happiness lives in the smiles of others. Happiness grows with compassion. Happiness thrives with kindness. Rather than waiting to be happy when you are at your ideal weight, in the job of your dreams, with your forever love, or anything else you think will make you happy, choose happy thoughts, words, and actions NOW. And guess what? When you begin to focus on being happy now, you will find the journey as magical as the destination as your dreams come true.

For the next week, I invite you to:

See happiness all around you. Take notice of the smiles rather than focus on frowns.

Be loving to yourself, others and the world knowing we are all doing the best we can in the moment. Focus on the love and kindness in you, others and the world rather than the flaws of fear.

Mostly, my wish for you is to realize seeing happiness in the small moments of your life allows the big surprises to blow you away.

Until next time, walk on the happy side of life.

“Believe in yourself! Have faith in your abilities! Without a humble but reasonable confidence in your own powers you cannot be successful or happy.”

~ Norman Vincent Peale

“Most people are as happy as they make their mind up to be.”

~ Abraham Lincoln

“Be happy with what you have and are, be generous with both, and you won’t have to hunt for happiness.”

~ William E. Gladstone
