I have always been drawn to words as they have such depth and meaning to me. I take them quite seriously, probably too seriously from time to time. See as a peace activator, I wince when I hear people say phrases that are empowering to many like ‘go kick ass today,’ ‘kick butt’, ‘kill it,’ ‘crush it,’ etc and yet the visual of kicking something does not bring peaceful feelings to me. Many of my colleagues and people I hold dear to my heart use phrases like those to inspire, empower and get people enthused about life and yet they leave me wondering if a gentler word could be used to create the same feeling? The more I step into focusing on kindness in my life and in the world, the more I focus my thoughts, words and actions on gentleness and compassion – and that includes word selection.
You are most likely not as word sensitive as I am, and yet I still encourage you to choose words that inspire and uplift you and others to live life full out. Words that bring a smile to your face. Words that bring deeper appreciation for life. Our thoughts, our words and our actions are all part of choosing love, kindness and compassion, so choose the ones that are uplifting to you, others and the world at large.
One person uses words better than anyone that I know in his art of the spoken word, and that is Prince EA

Words to Live By:
“Think twice before you speak, because your words and influence will plant the seed of either success or failure in the mind of another.” ~ Napoleon Hill
“For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone.” ~ Audrey Hepburn
Did I offer peace today? Did I bring a smile to someone’s face? Did I say words of healing? Did I let go of my anger and resentment? Did I forgive? Did I love? These are the real questions. I must trust that the little bit of love that I sow now will bear many fruits, here in this world and the life to come. “~ Henri Nouwen
