Life is Touching, Don’t You Think?

I don’t know about you, but so many things in life touch my heart. Mostly life touches me in a way that brings a smile to my face. Other things touch me and make my heart hurt reminding me of the preciousness of life. Each moment reminds me to embrace life fully. Embrace love. Embrace kindness. Embrace hope. Embrace compassion. Embrace gentleness. Simply embrace life.

When things are going well in our life, it’s easy to embrace it, touch it, feel it and love it. When we are doing meaningful work, the embrace is easy. When we are in love, the embrace is exciting. When we have good health, the embrace is gentle.

And yet, when our life is going the way we want, we often take it for granted. Many times people seek my coaching services when they aren’t embracing life and yet know it’s possible.  People often reach out to me due to a struggle they are facing whether it be in work, in love, or regarding health. It’s in those fearful moments of contrast and challenge that show us the deep yearning for embracing what is and growing what can be.

I’m sure you have heard someone say it before that although they wouldn’t wish it on anyone, cancer was a blessing to them. Did they want cancer? Absolutely not. However the possibility of losing life is often the wake up call when they truly learned to live.

Today is the perfect day to touch life and be touched by life. Allow the good moments to touch your heart and soul. Allow the sad moments to touch you as well while allowing them to deepen your love of life, of laughter, of happiness, or precious moments, of simply the fragility of life as it is always changing.

For the next week, I invite you to touch and be touched by:

Appreciating where you came from, where you are today, and where you are going. When you step into fear, step into appreciation of what is working well in your life. Focus on what you want rather than what you fear.

Breathing! Take moments during your day to stop and take some deep conscious breaths and fill your entire body with fresh oxygen and stilling your fearful thoughts.

Seeing your seeming failures as an opportunity to bring greater clarity to your dreams and make your successes even juicier.

Knowing the people in your life are there for a reason, yep – even the ones who irritate you. Embrace them, love them, and thank them for the part they play in your life. Remember you get to choose their significance in your life as well as how much you participate with them.

Mostly, my wish for you is to touch life. Feel it, breathe it, think it, speak it, and love it as you are so deserving of living life with deeper love, laughter and happiness than you have ever known.

Until next time, I’m deeply touched by your desire to be your best self and I thank you for joining me on this journey of life.
