Today, I lead with the music and then the message. If you’ve been reading my blogs for a while, then you know I have a format of message, affirmation, quotes, and ending with a song that fits in with the message. Researching songs for a prior blog, I came across this video that now lives inside of me. It’s a song from the Tony Award winning musical “Dear Evan Hansen,” and speaks to my heart and why I do what I do. To let people know they are seen, they are heard, that they matter, and that they are found.
I HIGHLY ENCOURAGE YOU TO WATCH IT AND SOAK IT IN.
Moving forward, if you are feeling lost – know that you will be found by:
Taking the smallest step forward in believing in yourself. Things worthwhile rarely happen overnight and you are so worthy of trying to live love.
Knowing you aren’t alone. In this very moment of feeling alone, there are others who feel that way too. There are also others who are grateful knowing you, even if they haven’t expressed it recently.
Being gentle with yourself. Do one nice thing for YOU daily. You get to decide how small or big it is but do it. Whether it’s taking a nap, enjoying a walk, eating ice cream, writing, dancing, or something else – if it brings you a moment of happiness, it is so worth the time.
Being the finder and reaching out to others. Even if it’s sharing a forced smile with a stranger, you will find that there is even connection in that. It may not create a long-lasting friendship, but in that moment, you were found and so was the person you shared the smile with.
Asking for help. There is such a spectrum of feeling lost to be a little lonely to despair. Check in your local community for resources and if you can’t find something, keep checking.
Mostly, my wish for you is that on your worst days, you know better days are ahead. There is no other like you and you deserve to live boldly, love deeply, laugh loudly, hug intently, and smile brightly.
Until next time, I see you, you matter to me. (((HUGS)))
I am loved just as I am.
